Hit Pieces From Chairman Bryan Christ Against His Own Party
Chairman Christ is working with Phelan-aligned cronies and the pro-gambling lobby against Conservative Republicans.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - A barrage of hit pieces and mailers is being foisted upon voters by Chairman Bryan Christ in a desperate attempt to get reelected. There are so many lies in Chairman Christ’s publications and materials that it’s becoming impossible to keep up, but one thing is clear. Chairman Christ will do anything to get reelected, including aligning himself with disgraced Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan and the pro-gambling lobby.
Unauthorized Push Cards at the Polls
The “Protect the Vote” push card below is being handed to voters in parking lots without authorization from the Montgomery County Republican Party. We do not know where the funds are coming from for these push cards because Chairman Christ refuses to bring them before the County Executive Committee (CEC) for a vote (a violation of our bylaws).

The logo in the images above is only being used by Chairman Christ’s splinter group of the party and is not the official logo of the Montgomery County Republican Party. This logo was discontinued at our December 6, 2022, CEC meeting and replaced with our new logo by unanimous vote. (See CEC meeting minutes.)
Chairman Christ also sent an unauthorized mailer to Republican voters on February 26 with funds that were not approved by the party.

Push Cards Use Attacks on the Republican Party of Texas and Texas Conservatives as Election Talking Points
The message on the unauthorized push cards is an obvious attempt to scare Republicans into voting for Chairman Christ. His latest tactic is attacking the Republican Party of Texas and conservative leaders who fight for our freedoms every day. It’s a disgusting assault on his fellow Republicans and the Republican Party, and we call upon him to immediately stop these attacks on our hard-working volunteers and Republican Party leaders.
Refuting Statements on the Unauthorized Push Cards
Chairman Christ refers voters to his website for evidence of the claims he makes on the push cards.
He states on his website that “it’s well documented that there is a movement within the Republican Party to try to influence and change Republican Primary outcomes by limiting voters’ choices.” But he posts no evidence for this slanderous claim.
He goes on to state that the Freedom Caucus and the Montgomery County Republican Party are trying to weaponize the party against candidates they don’t like. Again, no evidence. State and local party officials have publicly refuted this claim.
He states that the party wants to endorse in Primary Elections but provides no evidence of this either. The Republican Party bylaws and rules only allow the party to endorse against a censured Republican candidate. The process for censure is very involved and is not taken lightly. According to the Montgomery County Republican Party bylaws:
The Executive Committee may by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those present and voting, with 50% or more of the members voting, adopt a resolution censuring a Republican public or party office holder or candidate representing all or a portion of the County for not fulfilling their duties or for three (3) or more actions taken during the current biennium in opposition to the core principles of the Republican Party of Texas defined in the Preamble of the Party Platform as described in Rule No. 43A.
Bryan Christ is the only candidate to be censured by the Montgomery County Republican Party for the reasons listed here. And even though he has been censured, the party has not endorsed his opponent, Gwen Withrow, because we do everything we can NOT to endorse in the Primary Election.
Although the Montgomery County Republican Party does not endorse in the Primary Election, Gwen Withrow has earned endorsements for Montgomery County Republican Party Chair from many conservative leaders and organizations who are concerned about Montgomery County turning “blue” under Bryan Christ’s leadership.
These include Attorney General Ken Paxton; Republican Party of Texas Chairman Matt Rinaldi; Michael Berry; Chad Prather; Sheriff Joe Arpaio; Texas Eagle Forum PAC; Texas Patriots PAC; Montgomery County Tea Party; The Woodlands Township Director, Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs; Grassroots America - We the People; and many more. Are these the people Chairman Christ is referring to as “elitist Party Bosses” on his unauthorized push cards?
Not only has Chairman Christ been unable to secure these statewide and local endorsements from proven conservative leaders, the individual local endorsements he is promoting are entangled in the conflict of interest represented by his wife’s local political campaign consulting business and ties to the condemned Republican Voters of Texas PAC.

Chairman Christ Campaign Mailer Funded by the Pro-Gambling Lobby
Voters also should be aware that one of Bryan Christ's biggest supporters is James “Jim” Fredericks who has been lobbying to have gambling legalized in Texas. So, it was no surprise to find out that the “Texans for Opportunity & Prosperity PAC” (TOP PAC), which is backing Bryan Christ and paid for the above mailer supporting his reelection, is funded primarily by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation.
That’s right, the gambling lobby is pouring thousands of dollars into Montgomery County via texts and mailers in an attempt to get rid of the Conservatives in the party. Another major contributor to the TOP PAC is an Austin-based organization called “Texans for Lawsuit Reform,” which was rumored to be behind the impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Speaker Phelan is a major donor to the “Protect and Serve Texas PAC,” another of the TOP PAC’s major contributors. (Donor information for the TOP PAC can be verified at transparencyusa.org.)
For the 2024 election cycle, the pro-gambling lobby has donated close to $2 million so far to work against Texas Conservatives and support politicians aligned with embattled Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, who led the impeachment against AG Paxton. The pro-gambling lobby has targeted Montgomery County since it is still the “reddest” of all of the large counties in Texas.
Slanderous Text Messages and Emails
Chairman Christ has been sending slanderous text messages to Republican voters throughout Early Voting and voters are now being treated to emails from “The Texas Voice,” a self-proclaimed “news” site that has published hit pieces against Speaker Phelan’s conservative challenger, David Covey; Republican Party of Texas Chairman Matt Rinaldi; and the conservative Precinct Chairs who make up the majority of the Montgomery County Republican Party.
In his own words, Chairman Christ stated at recent local candidate forums that unifying the party is not his responsibility as the County Chair. He continues to blame division in the party he was elected to lead on a “small splinter group” that is actually comprised of 70 percent of Precinct Chairs who object to his violations of Texas Election Code, party bylaws, and party rules.
His latest actions show that he is serious about winning at all costs, even if it means slandering his fellow Republicans and destroying the Montgomery County Republican Party in the process. The only hope for this situation to change is through your vote for a new Republican County Chair during the ongoing Republican Primary Election.
