The battle to stop Republican House members from colluding with Democrats has been long and hard. I am confident the local and state party will do everything possible to end the practice of granting power to Democrats to gain their vote for the House Speaker.

Yesterday, the Conroe Courier printed yet another hit piece against the Montgomery County Republican Party. The article is full of falsehoods, omissions of pertinent information, and creative reinterpretations of events. This is not surprising coming from a news outlet owned by the left-leaning Houston Chronicle.

I have always bristled at this idea of having “two sides” within the Montgomery County Republican Party because it has always been, and remains, my contention that the Montgomery County Republican Party is just ONE PARTY and the Republican brand is worth protecting.

The party is now awaiting the results of the Legislative Session and for direction from the Republican Party of Texas Executive Committee to see if any further escalation of the censures is appropriate. 

It is wonderful having President Trump in the White House, but that does not mean we are finished. Our country depends on us to make sure we put leaders in office who will continue the work of restoring our country.

The party’s County Executive Committee highlighted several actions as contradictory to Republican Party of Texas principles, including breaking Republican Caucus bylaws and voting with the Democrats to elect Dustin Burrows as Speaker of the House.

The Montgomery County Republican Party delivered censure resolutions to Rep. Will Metcalf and Rep. Cecil Bell on February 25 in Austin. The County Executive Committee will be voting on Tuesday, March 4, on the resolutions. The public is welcome at all CEC meetings.

It is so exciting to actually be represented by a politician that puts America and “We the People” first, but we also must address issues taking place in the Texas House. Our county and country depend on us—Trump cannot save this country all by himself.

The Republicans who voted in November for a Republican to represent them in Austin never dreamed that a minority of Republican Representatives would join with Democrats and vote to empower Democrats to control the Texas House. The State Party and County Party are taking action.

Montgomery County delivered a victory for Ted Cruz and Donald Trump in 2024. We are without a doubt the largest block of Republican voters in the country. Here at home, we elected all of the candidates for local races which the party endorsed. Some may think the fight is over and we can now rest, but nothing could be further from the truth.

These are the words that will guide us going forward into the next four years as a Republican hero—Donald Trump—starts the process of taking office. Montgomery County came out in large numbers to make their voices heard all the way down the ballot.

As the largest block of Republican voters in Texas, we in Montgomery County have a special responsibility to turn out the vote. We must deliver Texas for Donald Trump and make sure Ted Cruz is returned to represent us in the Senate. This is it! October is here and early voting starts on Monday.

I, along with my fellow Montgomery County Republican Party members, am so thankful that our presidential candidate Donald Trump survived an attempt on his life today in Pennsylvania. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life of a bystander.
