There Is Only One Montgomery County Republican Party

A letter to the County Executive Committee (CEC) from Jon Bouché, Vice Chairman, Montgomery County Republican Party

Dear C.E.C. Members,

As I travel around the state and engage with other Republican organizations all across Texas, it is clear that the Montgomery County Republican Party is highly respected and considered as a leader in the Conservative movement. Indeed, we are very blessed to have several Conservative Republican Organizations here in Montgomery County, but I also believe that much of our success can be attributed to our Montgomery County Republican Party Chair Gwen Withrow who has been purposeful in fostering an environment of cooperation among Republicans in Montgomery County.

Consider that in the short time Chairwoman Withrow has been in office, the Montgomery County Republican Party has accomplished the following:

  • Best performing County in Texas in the 2024 Presidential Election

  • Statewide Elected Officials have resumed visiting Montgomery County

  • New Headquarters

  • Lincoln/Reagan Dinner and another one is in the planning stages

  • Republican Women’s Summit with plans to do more of these

  • Full Armor of God Prayer Annual Event to pray over our Elected Officials

If these things don’t get you excited for the direction the Montgomery County Republican Party is going then I don’t know what else will.

THERE IS ONLY ONE MONTGOMERY COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

I have always bristled at this idea of having “two sides” within the Montgomery County Republican Party because it has always been, and remains, my contention that the Montgomery County Republican Party is just ONE PARTY and the Republican brand is worth protecting.

This is a belief that I shared with former Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman Walter D. Wilkerson who in 2012 stated the following when an organization was mailing into Montgomery County and using the word “Republican” on their mailers.

Wally Wilkerson in 2012

I will continue to encourage party unity but as always, I simply ask that all County Executive Committee members observe party rules and unite around the party principles. We are not always going to agree on everything but we can certainly respect each other and the cooperative environment created with the election of Chairwoman Withrow has made that much easier to do.

YOU CAN UNITE THE PARTY RIGHT NOW

There has never been a better time to unite the party than at this very moment and I hope that you will all take this opportunity to do so. I also hope that when some group shows up in the Primary using the word “Republican” in the name of their organization and they are handing out voter guides to voters and saying, “Would you like the Republican guide?” or “Here is a Republican guide,” or some other statement that confuses the voter into believing they are being handed a voter guide by the Republican Party, you will not participate in that deceptive behavior and you will stand with the party in protecting the party brand just as Dr. Wilkerson did.

Party unity can be achieved! I look forward to working with all of you to accomplish even greater things for our county, state and nation in the months to come.

Sincerely,

Jon Paul Bouche
