The Declaration of Independence was signed at the Pennsylvania State House, later renamed Independence Hall, in Philadelphia.

We Are So Blessed

I love this nation and feel so thankful to have been born here. We enjoy the most freedom and prosperity of any people who have ever lived on this earth. As we celebrate Independence Day, please use this time to thank the Lord for blessing our nation.

Just a few short months ago we were looking over the cliff’s edge of a downhill disaster. The Lord has given us a second opportunity to right our country. It is so reassuring to watch Trump as he restores our nation—at rocket speed, I might add.  Every day I love him more and more.  Daddy’s home.

Our work is not over. There are signs, for example, in New York that Marxists are still at work trying to destroy our country. But today, I want to focus on the positive.

My husband, Bob, and I recently enjoyed two vacations to Florida. It was good to get away from politics for a while and just think about having fun. As we returned from our last trip to Florida, we got off the interstate due to extra heavy traffic. Driving through the rural countryside turned out to be a pleasant change from the highways as most of the small towns were decked out for the 4th of July.  Bob and I enjoyed reliving our childhoods as we were reminded of a more innocent time in our nation’s history. It gave me hope that our country is still made up of God-fearing patriots.

I actually laugh to myself as I think about our poor son, Robert, in the back seat wondering if his parents had gone berserk. Wondering if they were driving in circles as Bob and I debated each turn. If you have ever driven in rural Louisiana, you fully understand what I am talking about. Robert was so happy when he saw the big “Welcome to Texas” sign. His parents really were on the right track to get him home.

The Fight for Freedom

I notice others have often quoted the famous words of Ronald Reagan:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don’t do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.”

These words mean a lot to me so forgive me for using them again.  They are exactly how I feel as I return to work as both your State Republican Executive Committeewoman (SREC) for Senate District 4, and your County Chair here in Montgomery County. I am so proud for the opportunity to serve you in these positions and for the chance to fight for this country I love so much.

I will be attending numerous training sessions for County Chairmen over the next few months as we prepare for the upcoming March 2026 Primary Election. When we vote in March, we want to elect the best candidates to represent us in the November 2026 General Election.

In Montgomery County, the fight takes place in the Primary, so be prepared to work to support your choices. However, remember when the Primary ends, we all are going to fight twice as hard to get Republicans in office in the General Election and we will be working together. That means we are not burning bridges in the Primary. The Democrats have gone really, really crazy and we cannot let them take Texas down the path of their disastrous ideals.

Upcoming SREC Meetings

As your SREC representative, we have extra heavy work coming up. A special meeting has been called for the SREC on August 9th in Austin. At that time, we will receive and vote on a report from a taskforce of SREC who worked in Austin at the capitol to pass Republican Legislative Priorities during the 89th Texas Legislative Session.  If approved, the report will be provided on our website and emailed to each Precinct Chair.

The regular meeting of the SREC will be held September 5th and 6th in Corpus Christi. Then, on October 11th, we will again hold a special meeting in Austin. At that time, a report of censures from the Resolution Committee will be considered by the entire SREC. Both Dale Inman (SREC Senate District 4 Committeeman) and I serve on the Resolution Committee and we are already busy meeting by Zoom as counties are submitting their Rule 44 Censures to the SREC. These meeting are all livestreamed or, if you are really interested, open to the public.

County Party Notes

Your county party is preparing for the upcoming Primary and the start of our convention process. On August 5th, we will be electing our Senate District (SD) Convention Temporary Chairmen. I urge all Precinct Chairs to be present so that they can vote to choose their SD Temporary Chairman.

Also, we will have information for the Precinct Chairs as filing season starts.  All Precinct Chairs need to file if they want to serve next term. I have to add that I really love our Precinct Chairs. I believe we have the greatest group in the nation. Please make sure to file to run again. It has been such a pleasure working with all, and I do mean all, of you.

Celebrate Independence Day!

Alright, I have briefed you. Now join us in The Woodlands 4th of July Parade, enjoy a family cookout, and fireworks. Thank our veterans and current armed forces and pray for our country. It is a great time to be a Republican.
