Senator Bob Hall successfully passed Senate Bill 2753, which accomplishes the following:
Eliminates the gap between early voting and Election Day
Allows for combining precincts to limit countywide voting
Strengthens mail-in ballot procedures to prevent abuse.
Senate Bill 2753 is a MAJOR Legislative Priority for the Republican Party of Texas in a long-fought effort to secure our elections.
This bill was shifted to a study in the Election Committee chaired by Matt Shaheen, but thankfully, Rep. Brent Money and Rep. Carrie Isaac amended the bill to restore Senator Hall’s original language, and it passed.
Unfortunately, Rep. Shaheen added an amendment making it ineffective until 2027. We do not support this delay. Delegates to the Texas GOP convention were clear: We want election integrity NOW, not in 2027. Effectively this bill would not be useful until 2028.
📢 Take Action Today:
We are calling on grassroots voters to contact their Senators and vote to NOT concur with the House’s amendments and REMOVE the Shaheen amendment. Texans deserve timely election integrity reforms—no more delays.
For Texas and our Union,
Abraham George
Chairman
Republican Party of Texas
