Update From County Chair Gwen Withrow

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas. I spent time with my family who I am so blessed to enjoy. Hopefully we all remembered the reason we celebrate Christmas.
It is a new year—2026, The Golden Age of Trump. We celebrate and are thankful for the leadership of our President. Our country will celebrate a special milestone of 250 years.
America250’s website said: “The journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond.”
Speaking about the anniversary, President Donald Trump said, “With a single sheet of parchment and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history.”
Get Ready for the Texas Primary
We are at the starting gate of the big race. The Kentucky Derby of Primary season in Montgomery County.
We here in Montgomery County play a huge role in determining the candidates that win statewide. It is an extra load for our Precinct Chairs. Each of you has to vet the candidates and make sure you are supporting the best of the best.
As a Precinct Chair, your fellow citizens depend on each of you to help to introduce and educate them about the candidates. We want the best, most conservative Republicans representing us in November. Our neighbors, county, and country depend on this.
As President Trump spoke to House Republicans today during their annual policy retreat and issues conference, he said numerous times that we must win the Midterm Elections in November. If we lose, our country will once again be bogged down in impeachment mania. We have seen that movie and it was not pretty. I would be remiss if I did not mention that today is the fifth anniversary of January 6th when the Democrats set up a scenario of disgrace at our nation’s capital.
In Montgomery County we have an especially full slate of candidates to chose from. Again, we must choose wisely. Elections have consequences. Most especially this is true of the local races. These folks are the closest to the people and greatly impact your everyday life. It is your responsibility to make sure you are voting wisely.
As the Republican Party County Chairman, it is not my job to pick and choose who the party will support in November. It is my job to get the candidates out in front of the voters so that they choose who they will vote for.
I have committed to my role to be neutral and provide each candidate with information about running for office. I start to think of them as my candidates and try to support them where I can. So, the multi-ring circus of “Elephants on parade” starts.
My advice to candidates is to run with integrity and not to engage in a “winner at all costs” strategy. Yes, run hard, but always remember there will be opportunities in the future. God’s plan may not be victory this term, but if you are proud of the race you have run and the integrity that you demonstrate, then your life will hold many blessings in the future. The important message is do not lose your values and self-respect to politics.
Bag-Stuffing Day for Block Walking
Precinct Chairs, please mark your calendars for stuffing day on January 10th. This is a dedicated time when Precinct Chairs can use the office to fill their block-walking packets with their chosen candidates’ information.
Candidates, please have your information ready at the office for the Precinct Chairs. We already have a lot of signs at the office and I am advising candidates to make sure push cards and materials are available for the block walking.
We are anxious for signs and push cards to start moving from the office, so come by and select your candidates’ signs.
I am so blessed to have Secretary DJ Fike working hard making sure the office and all of the party activities run on schedule. She made sure all of the duties to produce the Primary ballot were performed while I was caring for my husband, Bob, as the result of a medical emergency.
Manning the Elections
I thank Precinct 87 Chair and Steering Committee Member, Robert Walker, for stepping forward to fill the role of providing our election judges for the Primary. We are going to need a considerable number of folks to man the elections.
DJ plans to provide additional training to our election workers—-this will be in addition to the county training, but it does not take the place of the county training.
It takes all of us working together to complete the work of running the Primary Election. After the Primary, we will be working hard to prepare for the Precinct, Senate District, and State Conventions.
Support the Trump-Reagan Gala to Help Turn Out Conservative Voters
Please do not forget to sign up for the Trump Reagan Gala, which will be held on January 17th.
This is the local party's biggest fundraiser of the year to support Get Out the Vote efforts. It's never been more important to get good Conservatives elected!
It will be an evening of GREAT food and patriotic spirit, featuring:
Attorney General Ken Paxton
Radio Host & Comedian, Kenny Webster
Congressman Pat FallonTexas Senator Mayes Middleton
Texas Representative Steve Toth
Don Huffines
May God bless each and every one of you through this busy and exciting time. I thank the Lord for allowing me to work with each of you.
God Bless Texas and the USA,
Gwen Withrow, Chairman
