May God Bless and Keep Texas

When people think of Texas, certain things come to mind such as the Alamo, oil derricks, cowboy culture, football, BBQ, farms, cattle ranches, big families, and Christian family values.
Texas is and always has been a state that is known for its manly, rugged men and its beautiful, intelligent women. As the woke culture descends upon each state like a plague of locusts destroying everything in their wake, many consider Texas as the Alamo in the battle to protect and preserve American family values where God is in charge, men are men, and women are women.
All Eyes on Texas
Of course, the success and blessings enjoyed by Texas makes it a target for the leftists. It was inevitable that they would eventually set their sights on trying to destroy Texas and turn it blue—just as they have done to other red states over the last few decades.
With its 40 electoral votes, second to California’s 54, Texas is the last line of defense against Democrats taking control of the White House for the foreseeable future. Democrats know this so they are pulling out all of the stops.
Texas Is an Economic Powerhouse
Texas has the second largest economy in the United States behind California, but that may change soon since Californians are moving to Texas at a rate of 1,000 per day and it is estimated that each year, anywhere from 500,000 to 600,000 Californians relocate to Texas.
This makes economic sense to families when they consider that the cost of living and state taxes in California continue to skyrocket to feed their ever expanding, rapacious welfare system. With Texas’ business friendly environment, which has around 100,000 new businesses starting in Texas annually, including 1,000 to 2,000 businesses which relocate or expand into Texas, jobs are plentiful in the Lone Star state. In short, working class people are moving to Texas for lower taxes, lower crime rates, and a plethora of job opportunities. But is it just the economy or is it something else that is attracting so many people to Texas?
Texas Is God’s Country
God has truly blessed Texas and its people so it should come as no surprise to anyone that Texas is the state with the most churches and ranks number one in church density per capita in the United States. Many Texans still load their families up every Sunday and attend church. Because the leftists have declared war on American and Texas values, they have laid siege to Texas and are doing all they can to erode the Christian bulwark of Texas on a daily basis. Church-going families are a threat to leftist ideologies.
Texas Values Under Assault
A prime example of the assault on Texas’ Christian and family values and traditions was demonstrated at the Texas Capitol on January 14th when the Texas House of Representatives gathered to kick off the 89th Legislative Session.
Prior to the session being called to order, openly gay Democrat House Rep. Venton Jones proposed to his lover on the floor of the Texas House. And later when the members were sworn in, Democrat Rep. Suleman Lelani was sworn in on the Quran instead of the Bible.
Some might ask, “Why does it matter?” Well, it matters because the actions of Rep. Jones and Rep. Suleman are not consistent with Texas House legislative activities and should not have happened on the floor of the Texas House. Rep. Jones could have proposed anywhere and at any time he wanted, but chose to do so in a very public way on the floor of the Texas House where lawmakers discuss and vote on laws. It is clear that Rep. Jones chose to abuse the privilege of being a member of the Texas House by pushing his own social agenda.
Rep. Suleman taking the oath on the Quran is also problematic given the Islamic practice of Taquiyyah, which is the belief that it is an act of religious devotion to mislead people of other faiths. As such, it is fair to conclude that the oath of office means nothing to someone of the Muslim faith and that should be of great concern to Texans.
The Oath of Office for Texas House Representatives is as follows:
“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of Representative of the State of Texas, and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and of this State, so help me God.”
Stand Strong for God and Texas
Conformity and convenience may be the path of least resistance. Certainly standing up for God and defending what is morally correct requires faith and great courage since the consequences of doing so are uncertain.
But as Christians, morality is the compass that must guide our actions, and we should remind ourselves that the moral values of Texas are not negotiable. Our true strength lies in the courage of Texans to do what is right, even in the face of adversity. If we don’t challenge the things that are in opposition to our Texas values, we contribute to eroding the trust and distorting the reality of what Texas is all about.
Our moral values provide the framework for our families, our Texas economy, and our culture. They must be defended at all costs because once we lose our moral compass, Texas will become just another state that the leftist locusts have descended upon, stripped bare, and destroyed.
