NEW CANEY, TX - The Montgomery County Republican Party will host a Town Hall Meeting in New Caney on August 24 at the East Montgomery County Senior Center, 21679 McCleskey Road. A meet and greet will be held at 6:00 pm to allow attendees to meet several of the East Montgomery County Republican Precinct Chairs. The Town Hall will begin at 6:30 pm.
The Town Hall will focus on East Montgomery County law enforcement issues surfacing as a result of the “Colony Ridge” or “Colonias” community. According to Todd Bensman, Fellow with the Center for Immigration Studies, Colony Ridge is considered by many to be the “largest illegal alien community in America,” with “an estimated 75,000 mostly illegal aliens.”
Texas Scorecard reports that “Colony Ridge is known for its dealings and associations with Gulf and Sinaloa cartels” and that the “massive influx of children” is putting extreme pressure on local school districts.
Town Hall panelists will include Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray, Sheriff Rand Henderson or a representative, Constable Rowdy Hayden, Victoria Thornton from the office of JP-4 Judge Jason Dunn, Texas Representative Steve Toth, and Walter West.
Due to the sensitive nature of this topic, the Montgomery County Republican Party is asking all attendees to stay on topic with issues specific to East County, and to be respectful to all speakers.
