Resolution supporting Israel’s right to exist, advocating the destruction of Hamas, and mourning the innocent who were murdered

AUSTIN, TX - The Republican Party of Texas (RPT) is pre-releasing the following resolution, which will be formally passed at the Fourth Quarter State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) meeting in December. Sixty SREC members have signed in support of the resolution. The SREC also authorized party officers and staff to sign.
Upon learning of the terrorist attack in Israel, Chairman Matt Rinaldi called for an emergency meeting of the RPT Resolutions Committee to formally express the sentiment of the Republican Party of Texas. An emergency meeting requires at least 48 hours notice, with additional time for members to review the resolution and add their names.
Montgomery County Precinct 72 Chair Gwen Withrow serves on the State Republican Executive Committee for District 4 and is a member of the State Republican Party Resolutions Committee. She said:
“I worked with the Resolutions Committee in an emergency meeting to pass the Resolution Supporting Israel. The resolution was signed by all serving members of the SREC, state leadership, as well as staff of the Republican Party.
“I have been horrified by the response on our college campuses to this pure evil. It is completely unbelievable that our college campuses are becoming such hotbeds for misinformation and rhetoric in response to terrorism.
““To remain silent in the face of evil is evil.” We cannot allow this to take root in our country. We must fight on every level with all we have to ensure that our country does not degenerate to such morally corrupt beliefs and inability to understand right from wrong.
“I have been a proud supporter of Israel for decades as a member of Christians United for Israel. I condemn Hamas for the killing, raping, beheading, and sheer butchery of their attack against civilians. I demand the hostages be released immediately.”
