Texas Women’s Privacy Act Needs a Hearing in the House!
May 5, 2025 | Media Inquiries: press@mctxgop.org
Many of our legislative priorities are dying a slow death in the House State Affairs Committee. This is just as it happened in previous sessions in the Calendar Committee which was chaired by Dustin Burrows and Speaker Dade Phelan. Every time there is a key Legislative Priority held up it seems Phelan is involved.
The Texas Women’s Privacy Act, SB 240 (Creighton), successfully passed out of the Texas Senate a few weeks ago but now it sits in the House State Affairs Committee where it has yet to have a hearing. The House bill, HB 239 (Swanson), has not had a hearing either! Time is running out! Ask House State Affairs Committee members to hold a hearing for SB 240, The Texas Women’s Privacy Act!
