An update from Rachel Horton, Republican Party of Texas Legislative Priorities Committee Co-Chair

As many of you may know, the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) is our election administrator for the state of Texas. Lately, there’s been a LOT of news featuring the voter ID laws and making sure our voters are actually U.S. citizens.

More background information on this issue can be found in this recent Texas Scorecard article:

New Texas SOS Advisory Allows Noncitizen Licenses As Voter ID

PLEASE ACT NOW:

Call the Texas Secretary of State’s office and ask for clarity on the issue of “Limited Licenses” being used as “acceptable forms of voter identification.”

☎️ The number to call: (800) 252-8683

These licenses are issued to noncitizens, they expire when the lawful status is terminated, or must be renewed every year.

They should NOT be used as voter ID in U.S. elections.

Please be courteous but firm in our insistence that noncitizens should not be allowed to present Limited Licenses as a legitimate voter ID.

For Texas,
Rachel Horton
