Defending Texas
May 12, 2025 | Media Inquiries: press@mctxgop.org
Montgomery County Rep. Janis Holt (HD 18) went after House Bill (HB) 4166 earlier this month in her efforts to defend Texas against the development of additional settlements similar to Colony Ridge in Liberty County and EPIC City, a 400-acre Sharia law housing development in Collin County.
➡️ As a result of Rep. Holt's questioning, Rep. Ryan Guillen (HD 31), the author of HB 4166, was forced to pull the bill.
➡️ HB 4166 is on hold and if it passes the House, will most likely fail in the Senate.
➡️ Governor Abbott has halted any construction of EPIC City and investigations (including criminal) are being conducted by Attorney General Ken Paxton and the U.S. Department of Justice.
We are very thankful for Rep. Holt’s strong pushback on HB 4166. In addition, Amy Mek, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the RAIR Foundation (@AmyMek on X), has been relentlessly drawing attention to Sharia housing developments in Texas, as well as Steve Bannon's Warroom and the Charlie Kirk Show.
