Evans Due Process Resolution J6 Defendants

ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS DESERVE AND ARE AFFORDED DUE PROCESS RIGHTS BY THE UNITED STATES AND TEXAS STATE CONSTITUTIONS THAT WE DEMAND TO BE UPHELD.

WHEREAS, the Federal Government has unfairly characterized, detained and/or incarcerated Americans who participated in the January 6th, 2021, rally in Washington DC and events that followed at the United States Capitol.

WHEREAS, independent news organizations reported over one million, and as many as two million individuals, gathered to support President Trump, as well as Free & Fair Elections.

WHEREAS, there is clear video footage and reports of the Capitol Police inviting rally attendees to enter inside the Capitol Grounds and Building.

WHEREAS, the Republican Party does not condone acts of violence, destruction, or vandalism.

WHEREAS, Texas citizens have Rights guaranteed to them by the US Constitution, and The Texas Constitution that must be followed.

WHEREAS, the Montgomery County Republican Party always supports Due Process rights and laws of the United States of America for all citizens.

WHEREAS, many of our elected representatives have confirmed Americans are unlawfully arrested, removed from the State of Texas and held without Due Process.

WHEREAS, we recognize the obvious bias in the prosecution or pretrial detainment of January 6th defendants and sentences imposed.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Montgomery County Republican Party asks our elected representatives, including but not limited to:

Governor Greg Abbott
Lt. Governor Dan Patrick
Attorney General Ken Paxton
Sen Brandon Creighton(SD 4)
Rep Cecil Bell(HD 3)
Rep Steve Toth(HD 15)
Rep Will Metcalf(HD 16)

to ensure American Citizens are receiving Due Process as required by the United States & Texas Constitutions to include the correct process of arrest to be effected by a County Sheriff and the right to see a Texas State Magistrate before being removed to any Federal Jurisdiction.
