Donald Trump Announces J.D. Vance as His Vice Presidential Pick

President Donald Trump has officially announced that Ohio Senator J.D. Vance will join him on the 2024 GOP presidential ticket as his running mate. President Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social account.
J.D. Vance was elected to the United States Senate in 2022 after receiving a Trump endorsement and was sworn into office on January 3, 2023. He was born and raised in Middletown, OH, served in the United States Marine Corps, and fought in the Iraq War. He then graduated from The Ohio State University and Yale Law School.
He wrote a bestselling book, Hillbilly Elegy, which was turned into a Netflix movie. He worked in the investment and finance industries prior to his election, and co-founded Narya Capital in Cincinnati in 2019.
He has been a frequent guest on WarRoom With Steve Bannon, has been a champion for the people of East Palestine, OH, after the tragic train derailment, and a fighter for “Make America Great Again” policies.
He will be speaking at the Republican National Convention currently taking place in Milwaukee, WI.
