HB 900 is scheduled for a House floor vote tomorrow, April 19! Please contact your state representative and ask for a vote in favor of this bill aimed at removing sexually explicit materials from school libraries.

April 18, 2023 | Austin, TX

Sometime tomorrow, the Texas House of Representatives will have a floor vote on HB 900, aimed at removing sexually explicit materials from our school libraries. Our involved voters made this happen. When the House Education Committee held a hearing on the legislation, they received 364 pages worth of comments from our electorate.

Let’s do it again. Please contact your state representative and ask that they vote in favor of HB 900, authored by Representative Jared Patterson of District 106 and a priority bill for the Republican Party of Texas.

The bill has a mechanism to remove sexually explicit materials, a clear definition of those materials, and standards for school libraries. It includes enforcement measures for vendors who will be unable to sell to Texas schools if found in violation of the law.

Take Action

Please contact your state representative and ask for a vote in favor of HB 900.
