Update -  Rather than move on HB 1686 described below, a vote has been scheduled for May 2 in the House on SB 14, the companion bill to that would outlaw surgical and chemical gender modification of children in Texas.

_______________________________

Two weeks ago, the House Public Health Committee passed HB 1686 by Representative Tom Oliverson of District 130 and it has been awaiting a House vote ever since.  True Texas Project reports that, although it has not been placed on the calendar for a floor vote, they have information that it will happen very soon.

It’s time to turn up the heat! With one month left to this session and thousands of bills on their roster, there is no time to dawdle.  Very few of the bills that represent the Legislative Priorities of the Republican base have made it through the House.

What is more important than putting a stop to the mutilation of impressionable and vulnerable children? For the Republican Party of Texas, this is one of our most important bills.  Please call your legislators and ask them to support this critical piece of legislation.
