On October 14th, I attended the presentation of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for Charlie Kirk from President Trump. Our president spoke from the heart and honored Charlie’s legacy.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest honor that can be awarded to an individual, and to give it to Charlie was bittersweet because Charlie would have been 32 on that day.
“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and inspiration to millions and millions of people,” said President Trump.
At the White House ceremony, I met Charlie’s parents for the first time. I had the opportunity to tell both his mom and dad, “Heidi and I love Charlie. When we got to know him 14 years ago, his vision was as clear then as it was the day he died — a vision of creating a movement to energize and mobilize young people to love freedom, free enterprise, the Constitution, and America. That vision was unmistakable.”
Please join me in praying for the Kirk family and for Charlie’s mission to grow stronger and stronger.
