URGENT CALL TO ACTION: BAN TAXPAYER-FUNDED LOBBYING

As of May 1, 2025 there have been zero true bills in the House State Affairs Committee for our Legislative Priority “Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying”.

All of the “Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying” bills have unacceptable exceptions; therefore, the Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying subcommittee does not support any officially.

All of the bills below are in the State Affairs Committee. Please urge the members of the State Affairs committees to amend their bills for ZERO TOLERANCE of Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying! Contact them here.

If amended, we are calling for the following bills to go to hearing:

  1. HB 309 by Representative Leo Wilson. Relating to the use by a political subdivision of public funds for lobbying and certain other activities.

  2. HB 4860 by Representative Patterson. Relating to the use by a political subdivision of public funds for lobbying and certain other activities.

  3. HB 755 by Representative Spiller (does not ban taxpayer-funded lobbying, but supports it). Relating to certain requirements applicable to certain public entities that engage in lobbying.

  4. HB 3615 by Representative Schatzline is a very good bill also (with amendments). Relating to the use by certain public entities of public funds for lobbying and certain other activities.
