Involving Emergency and Special Meetings
WHEREAS, it is believed that the call for Special and Emergency meeting is being abused by members of the CEC;
WHEREAS, the constant slew of meetings being called is driving down the will of members to continue on in their capacity;
THEREFORE, be it resolved that Emergency meetings shall be defined as Texas Government Code 551.045, and cannot be called unless those perimeters are met and must be called and settled within 3 days;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the special meeting shall be defined as “actions that require the immediate action of the CEC and cannot be resolved at the next scheduled meeting” e.g. (redistricting, items on ballot, monetary and funding issues not brought before the treasurer government budgets votes) and defined by Robert Rules of Order on special meeting. And must be called and settled within 1 (one) week and may not be called within 2 week’s of 2 (two) regular meetings.
