How do you feel about your taxes being used for gender reassignment procedures? The House State Affairs Committee will meet tomorrow at 9:30 am to take up HB 1029 that would prohibit the use of state funds for gender reassignment surgery or drugs for the purposes of altering a person’s primary or secondary sex characteristics.

This restriction does not apply to gender reassignment to be performed on an intersex person.

The bill is authored by Representative Brian Harrison of Austin, representing District 10.
