Texas Bills to Watch: SB 15, participation in intercollegiate athletic competitions based on the student’s biological sex

Coming up tomorrow in the Texas Senate will be a bill “requiring a student of a public institution of higher education who competes in intercollegiate athletic competitions to do so based on the student’s biological sex.” The hearing will be held at 10:30 am in the Senate State Affairs Committee.

The bill was authored by Senator Mayes Middleton of Galveston (SD-11). Co-authors include all three of our Montgomery County senators - Bettencourt (SD-7), Creighton (SD-4), and Kolkhorst (SD-18).

Take Action

Anyone interested in attending or testifying is encouraged to do so. True Texas Project will have their Citizen Advocate team there and they will help anyone who may want to testify.

You also are encouraged to contact your senator and thank them for being a part of legislation important to Montgomery County citizens.
