Defend Our Gun Rights

HB 3 - Relating to measures for ensuring public school safety, including the development and implementation of purchases relating to and funding for public school safety and security requirements and the provision of safety-related resources. Signed into law.

HB 3137 - Relating to prohibited local regulation with respect to a firearm or air gun. Signed into law.

HB 356 - Relating to the civil liability of certain businesses in connection with allowing concealed handguns on the business premises. Sent to House Calendars Committee.

Property Tax & Inflation Reduction

SB 2 (Special Session #2) - The agreement struck between Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan on property tax relief. Rep. Bell is a cosponsor of this bill.  Signed into law.

HB 335 - Relating to a limitation on increases in the appraised value of real property for ad valorem tax purposes. In House committee.

HB 379 - Relating to the allocation and deposit of certain surplus state revenue to the property tax relief fund for use in reducing school district maintenance and operations ad valorem taxes. In House committee.

HB 2500 - Relating to the selection of the chief appraiser of an appraisal district; authorizing a fee. In House committee.

HJR 18 - Proposing a constitutional amendment to authorize the legislature to limit the maximum appraised value of real property for ad valorem tax purposes. In House committee.
