Party Issues

If you have not already done so, please familiarize yourself with the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Rules and Platform so you will be better equipped to testify and vote.

Watch the interview below with RPT Chairman Matt Rinaldi to learn more about the Republican Party’s policy role, the danger of allowing a government and candidate-led takeover of the party, closing the Primary so Democrats are unable to choose our Republican candidates, and what we need to do in the future.

RPT Chair Candidates Forum

Delegates and alternates, we strongly encourage you to attend this candidate forum or watch it online to prepare to select a new RPT Chair at the May Texas GOP Convention.

The event will be streamed live and recorded for later playback.

TIPS & REMINDERS FROM THE RPT CONVENTION COMMITTEE

  • Wear comfortable shoes! This is a large convention center and there will be lots of walking from the convention floor to the caucus rooms. If you need a scooter or wheelchair, information on renting one can be found here.

  • Bring a pen. You’ll need to vote in caucus and having something to write with makes this go much quicker. Many delegates find a notepad is also very handy.

  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the convention center, however, there are multiple options for purchase.

  • While the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the Republican Party of Texas allow firearms in the convention center, you are responsible for knowing the laws and policies at your hotel and the surrounding areas you may enter.

  • Representatives of the media will be there. You don’t have to talk to them if you don’t want to, but they are our guests, and we hope you show them proper Texas hospitality.

  • If you encounter protestors, please ignore them. We have security on-site; they will handle it. You don’t need to get in a shouting match with anyone.

  • Don’t forget to stop by the exhibit hall and meet our amazing sponsors and party supporters. We couldn’t put on a convention of this size without their help. The exhibit hall is open Wednesday from 2-6pm, Thursday and Friday from 7am-7pm, and Saturday from 7am-3pm.
